Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School Library exists to serve the unique needs of our learning community. The library is the “heart of the school” and as such seeks to be a vibrant, welcoming place for students, faculty, and staff. Our goal is to develop life-long learners who use information effectively and are able to evaluate the quality and worth of the information they encounter on a daily basis, both in school and out. The library has well-developed digital and print collections, including a high interest fiction collection and non-fiction collections that support the school curriculum as well as student reading interests.

DY Library Spring 2024 Family Newsletter
There are many new digital resources available to students this year including new eBooks and audiobooks. Sora is the reading app on the student iPads. The app connects students to The Commonwealth eBook Program. There are many titles to choose from including books in multiple languages. The reading platform allows users to check out a book, customize their reading profile, take notes, define terms, and export any notes and highlights to their Google Drive. The app is free and students can log in using their school credentials. The Sora app is free to use and can be downloaded onto any mobile device. |
Databases and interactive eBooks are available in the school library. In addition to the statewide databases, For the junior research paper, DY students have access to Gale Cengage Opposing Viewpoints in Context. The online resource covers today's hottest social issues. The information supports science, social studies, current events, and language arts classes. The collection includes current information in a variety of formats including peer-reviewed journal articles, podcasts, and videos. The database presents information about specific topics to inform differing views and helps to develop critical-thinking skills in order for students to draw their own conclusions. To access the school databases please click on the “Library Databases” under Quick Links on the high school website.
